I'm =SimplySilent, and I've been on dA for about a year and a half now. I do a lot of digital art, including digital painting, photomanipulation, and pixel art, but during the last few months, I've been teaching myself CSS and making journal and gallery skins for dA.

Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I live in Australia and I turn 17 in April. My favourite subject at school is Chemistry.
=lightpurge, how did you find deviantART?
~chicken-on-a-chain introduce me to it. I'm so glad she did
How did you get your username, or what does it symbolize?
I was young, and not creative back when I was 14. I got 'avatar' from Avatar: The Last Airbender (which is a great show) and I needed a number. avatar-1 would have looked quite weird so I made it avatar-01. I do and don't regret that name haha.

I love browsing art that people have put so much effort into. I also like how you can customize your page to make it YOUR own.
Are there any deviantART features that you have never used?
Honestly, I haven't used dAMuro. I'm not too fond of it. Sure I gave it a go but I don't use it. As my watchers know I'm not an avid drawer.
How old were you when you first became interested in art?
I could say when I was 6 and traced Pokemon with grease proof paper, but I really didn't get interested in art until my teenage years, even then when I first got an account I posted nothing until a couple months after I created it.
Which artists (off and on dA) inspire you?
Some people may not call her an artist, but Stefani Germanotta (i.e. Lady GaGa) is my favourite artist. She is very creative in by which she creates her own clothes that are extraordinary. On deviantART, most of my inspirations are stamp makers. For example; ~SparkLum, ^ClefairyKid, `stuck-in-suburbia, !prosaix and many more.
What are your pet peeves on dA?
Being an avid Stamp Maker, I find non-transparent stamps so annoying. It just doesn't look good. Also deviants who 'Sp33k lyk dis', we have a language, use it!
Recently, there has been a lot of controversy about ‘buying pageviews’ with points. What is your view on this?
I have actually been affected by this. There is a certain account on deviantART that deviants donate points and they get an amount of pageviews according to how much they donated. I tried to stop it by sending the account owner a note, which I really regret. To prove that he/she wasn't a flop he gave me 1000 pageviews. I feel like I am one of those foolish people who bought the pageviews, when I like getting pageviews the right way. So obviously I am 100% against buying pageviews.
What type of music are you into?
Mainstream. Top 40. You know, like Lady GaGa, Rihanna, Ke$ha, Bruno Mars, Usher and Adam Lambert (just to name a few). The songs I'm listening to right now include Born This Way and S&M.
What kind of movies are you into?
I like anime movies - Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, etc. But I also like Disney Movies, which recently I watched Tangled and it was a great movie. I like action movies like Salt as well.
